    cloning Cloning Peppers

So just take the cutting and leave it in water? I have never tried this method before, so maybe I will give it a shot.     I was aware of this, but I thought it was on a different site, so when I looked for it I could not find it. Turns out it was on here all along. But I still do like to get...

    cloning Cloning Peppers

Does anyone have experience with cloning/taking cuttings with peppers. I have a jalapeno I would like to clone before frost hits here Hopefully then I will be able to keep them over winter. I have a cloning machine that I got from amazon. I also have cut clones using cannabis when I worked on...

Thanks, that might be a good idea, I have since posting bought a large amount of soil and mixed it in with mine, so if that doesn't work, this will be my next move.

    Problems sowing exotics...help!

UPDATE: everything but the Carolina reapers from the second batch have started to come up, so there is hope! The first batch was destroyed and recycled, so maybe I just jumped the gun, but they did take almost 3 1/2 weeks. So I guess they were just late germinaters.

    Problems sowing exotics...help!

they arent the best pics, and they are from the day after, which was 3 days ago. They are a lot darker green now, except for the one in the close up. That one is a jalapeno that is in an extra large pot, I wrapped that one in a tarp before the snow hit so it had some protection.

    Problems sowing exotics...help!

Awesome! Looks like I am going to give it a try! Unfortunately, the few healthy plants that I had just succumbed to a late frost/light snow. The farmers almanac mislead me to believe that we were past that. That being said I have 2 chilis, 2 jalapenos, and a bell and a red habanero that are iffy...

    Problems sowing exotics...help!

I was also thinking maybe in stead of trying to sprout seeds again next year, just cloning the ones that do end up thriving. Do you have any experience in cloning peppers? I have had great results in the past with medical cannabis cloning and would be confident in doing so if it were at all...

    Problems sowing exotics...help!

Yes I have noticed the ones that are growing do so remarkably slow. The first run I did WAS in February, so I guess I had my timeline a little off. I was unaware of the finicky nature of these varietires, and, with that in mind, I may keep them indoors until next year (I have the appropriate...

    Problems sowing exotics...help!

I ordered several exotic strains of pepper this year. Purple Jalapeno, Purple Ghost, Red habanero, and caroliona reaper to be specific. I have planted 3 different runs in the past month, using about 50 red hab, 30 purple ghost, 10 purple jalapeno, 10 carolina reaper respectively.... Now here is...

    drainage

I have a small backyard and the only topsoil we have is that which I have bought. The rest of the land consists of mud and clay. Last year I had a problem with my jalapenos and I think what was causing it was poor drainage. Any suggestions on a cheap or free method to improve drainage on lets...

    Ghosts Haunting My Cabinet

Just ordered reaper seeds yesterday, supposed to be at the house the 29th. Gonna be my first go with the reapers, so I am very excited! I also make chili with my all the peppers/vegetables/herbs above, and including my own tomatoes and corn. A nice sweet and spicy turnout usually.

    Ghosts Haunting My Cabinet

I do the same thing! I use a dehydrator and a food processor to dry and powder them and it is still almost always too hot for the layperson to even fathom. I get the whole garden involved as well. Growing onions and garlic I can also dry and grind them as well. Parsley, thyme and sage are for...

seeds Thinking about starting my seeds indoors now

I think it would be super beneficial to get started now! Mucho peppers to yield during the season. I think im gonna give it a shot, i could even change a lighting cycle to send them into fruit early if i wanted to! Will be nice to have habs and jalapenos when i am ready to plant too

seeds Thinking about starting my seeds indoors now

I am thinking about getting started, out of sheer boredom and the want to have a lot of peppers in fewer plants, but am not sure if it would make a difference. I have indoor lighting that will suffice to keeping any plant alive so that wouldnt be an issue. Anyone else start their peppers indoors...

    Help with disease ID

Azamax is my personal favorite, but if you use it too much, they will develop tolerances. So I would alternate with something else. My 2 cents
