    Blafa's 2019 (Copenhagen/Denmark)

So time for an update!   I was getting more and more frustrated with my growing setup. The self-watering, styrofoam setup just didn't work for my needs. The larger holes in the bottom of the tray in combination with my sandy soil led to sink holes and soil caving in, covering seedlings and...

    Blafa's 2019 (Copenhagen/Denmark)

Thanks for the support! I still haven't had luck with any of the old ones yet but I have started to change the environment so fingers crossed. I still have a couple of old seeds left which I might play around with, doing some soaking and nutrient additions with...   As for the Jiffy Pellets...

    Blafa's 2019 (Copenhagen/Denmark)

I am really glad you think so! I hope we see a little bit more action soon though!   The old seeds have been stored mainly in different kitchen cupboards as I have moved more than 5 times since last growing them! So I haven't got the highest hopes. But some I have plenty of so I might try some...

    Blafa's 2019 (Copenhagen/Denmark)

And here's a weekly update.   Things are moving slow... A little bit too slow for my liking. Maybe I'm just impatient.    I am starting to think that the potting soil I used might be too dense, but honestly I'm probably overthinking this.   Finally seeing some hooks, but unfortunately a lot of...

    Russian / Central Asian peppers?

Thanks so much for the links!   Jim Duffy's site was extremely helpful. I will defiantly order from him next season.        This sound super interesting. I'd love to follow the progress, and it would mean the world to me to find some old school varieties.      I can imagine that there's a lot...

    Blafa's 2019 (Copenhagen/Denmark)

Never really tried a white pepper that I liked! Are you growing it this year as well?    The Rimmerhus Fun Strain is a super funky Chocolate Pepper. Originally it derives from a Chocolate Trinidad Scorpion that set a really peculiar, curly and fist like fruit.  "In 2103 it was grown as an...

    Blafa's 2019 (Copenhagen/Denmark)

Cheers!     Thank you! You are very much an inspiration! Best of luck to you as well!     Thanks! We'll see down the line. I think much is dependant on the summer here...       Haha, My girlfriend is already concerned we're not growing enough other vegetables and flowers so we'll have to see...

    Russian / Central Asian peppers?

Hi I have been trying to find seeds for uniquely Russian or Central Asian peppers. So far the seed sites have given me nothing. Is anyone growing something that fits the description or is the tradition of peppers in this regions just spares? Cheers!

    Blafa's 2019 (Copenhagen/Denmark)

Some pictures as well!     Seeds! Thanks WHP for all the extras. Sure looking forward to try some of these out.     Main seed tray. A self watering system I'm not super happy with, but it'll do for this year.    Seed tray for the Jiffy Pellets. This bunch started out way to wet. I don't know...

    Blafa's 2019 (Copenhagen/Denmark)

Hello everyone!   Decided to keep track of my growing this year and hopefully you’ll join in!   Did some pretty big seasons back in 2010/2011 but since then I’ve had to keep it small due to restricted living space – Not anymore! Finally settled in a beautiful apartment in Copenhagen with...

Classic Pickled Chili, Swedish way, using acetum.

I think it would be great on burgers! Can't wait to try it out. I'm either using a 12% or 24% spirit vinegar when doing a pickle like this, you're right its strong! Clears up your nose for sure

Can anyone tell what variety this is

I am currently growing this myself, I bought in a supermarket here in Sweden. Those were also Dutch and grown in Holland. Mine were labled Adjoema, also spelled Ojemma and at other places it's known as Aji Umba, Yellow. These peppers seems to be grown in a large scale for commercial sales and...

Classic Pickled Chili, Swedish way, using acetum.

Adding chili and the other vegetables. Cook for 5-10 minutes. Bottle it into glass jars. Let cool, this is now preserved and you'll be able to keep it for years... even though I have a feeling mine won't last that long!
