    disease Worrying signs on leaves

Seems like you may have - or at least may have had - some root issues too, perhaps with the soil remining too wet. The last picture with the wilt looks like serious root problems, with fungal infection being likely. Unless these plants are simply wilting because the soil's dry, which I'm...

    health What is this?

Hey Marturo. I get plants like this periodically, though it always clears up when they go outside. This is one of the better write-ups I've seen on Edema and Intumescence.

issue Can anyone tell me what's wrong with these plants please

Sounds like you've done what you can and time will tell. Seeing strong roots is a positive. Glad to hear your tomatoes and perhaps other peppers are doing well. As far as pathogens, they're going to be in both in "natural" soil and the environment, so there's no avoiding them. Once the plants...

It's never too early to get started!

Your plants look great, Marc - and that red moa looks super vigorous. Plant out can't come soon enough!

pics A few questions please 🙂

Great that your peppers are settling in! I'll throw in my 2 cents on a few things you bring up. First, I wouldn't even think of fertilizing them for a few weeks. Those lighter and darker green colors look just fine and they have available nutes in the soil that should do them great for the...

issue Can anyone tell me what's wrong with these plants please

With those overnight temps for sprouts, my take's this most likely results from the cool temps and perhaps some watering/moisture retention considerations. The colder temps can slow and weaken the plants, including root development, which can let the bad guys get ahead. It I don't see any...

issue Can anyone tell me what's wrong with these plants please

Looks like they're outside (perhaps in something hoop-house like) in the pics. What range of temperatures are they experiencing? They're awfully young for cool temps, which can exacerbate other issues, such as damping off.

Too early to confirm, but I don't see anything to suggest it isn't a jalapeno.

pics Sun burn and vegetation overgrowth

Looking at the Red Bhut in the first pic, there seem to be two things happening there. One is that there appears to be a second, smaller plant growing next to it's stem. Perhaps a stray seed or extra from the original transplant. The other is that those aren't "lower leaves" so much as the...

sun Newbie . Seedlings 3 weeks sprouted but not looking great? Advice?

Hey Saeroner. Your seedings still look okay, but that soil mix won't work for peppers and the issues will get worse over time. Topsoil isn't growing soil and backyard dirt in south Florida isn't likely to help any. My recommendation is to buy a bag of quality "container" soil from somewhere...

    container *pics* questions about transplanting

They do look small. Not sure why, but if I were to guess I'd guess they were grown in reduced light and somewhat cool conditions, like perhaps in a window or with weaker/cooler lighting. There shouldn't be an issue with transplanting them into their final homes, just that soil mix with good...

    SineNomine 2024

Hey Sine. Great to hear you're on the road to recovery and that you're getting assistance along the way. Those pepper starts are looking good. In another 3 weeks I expect they'll be ready and raring to get out on the balcony. Don't know what to say about those "rayado." I thought the seeds...

The proper way to do a SASBE

Even with solid seed starting techniques, there's no shortage of reasons germination can go wonky. Sometimes it's seemingly inexplicable how a certain batch of seeds won't germinate despite the others around them doing fine, then when you try them again later they sprout just fine.

The proper way to do a SASBE

My best guess would be that other factors affected your germination rates more significantly. I wouldn't expect roller damage to seeds in an unpadded envelope to have that much of an effect, unless the seeds were overly dry and brittle. You'll typically see potential roller damage because the...

    Wild, Indeed, Community Thread

It looks like the yellow/green streaks splitting the purple streaks might be a bit bigger or more defined than I'm used to seeing, but perhaps not so much that it looks like something other than a purely lanceolatum flower - at least based solely on that. Your point is on that the coloration...

container Questions about Growing C. pubescens

My take is similar to HF's. I'd grow them normally, staking or caging if that becomes appropriate for support. In my experience, they often don't require support, though they sometimes will as branches can get long and rocoto pods can get heavy. When I overwinter them, I typically prune back...

Looks like you decided to transition some of them to bigger pots. When's your plant-out date? Seen any new growth yet on the Tabasco bonchi?
