Thanks. :) I guess if it does get tainted I can use that as an excuse to get a second one. Our first one hasn't stopped running since Christmas! I can't dry fruit fast enough before the kids eat it all up. :lol:

@chileaddict - I know it's probably a little late now but I used to use a Smokenator in my Weber grill. I used it for an entire season just about every weekend for all my smoking needs. It was a great device but the metal started to warp a bit after all the use and it wouldn't fit as snug as it...

Hi all, I'm hoping someone who's done this will know the answer. I want to smoke some habanero chilies and then dry them out in my dehydrator. Will the smoke odor from the chilies taint the dehydrator in any way? Say if I dry a batch of fruit after the chilies, will the fruit get the "smokey"...

A little late now, I came across this thread while searching, but "Cayne's The Super Warehouse" in the Toronto area sells 2 different Nesco dehydrator models. I got one of them for Christmas. :cool:
