Lobsters and scallops (pronounced "Looobstahs and Scollups" as I'm learning)are really cheap up here this year - $3/lb for lobsters at the shore. Very nice. I'm going to try some early next week, one baked stuffed with scallops and a ultra-spicy mayo spread over it before baking and regular...

Made it to Maine!! Finally here after three years of planning. Hoping to bring epic super-hotness to an area that has lots of nice folks that seem to not yet appreciate the joy of burn. Either way, excited about building my new greenhouse.

What age is too young for hot peppers?

Perhaps another question should be: "When my kid asks about drinking alcohol, how much of a Trinidad Scorpion do I put in the beer I offer him/her to try it out when they ask?" :shh:

    Terraflexsystems

I can't believe the gaden is now down. Many, many thanks to Sethsquatch and Justaguy! Can't wait for 2013 The system I use is not really mass production and is 99% organic - the only non-organic component in the nutrients are chelated micronutrients at sub-percent proportions (like FeEDTA and...

    Heating my small grow room

I've had great luck using bottom heat under seedlings suing X-Mas rope lights. Also great for germination as well. Here;s a great how-to link (this is exactly what I ended up doing): http://doorgarden.com/02/home-made-bottom-heat-seed-starting Good luck! (Oops - also meant to add that I put...

Pick me ups - Sleep aids

I've had similar issues over the years and this is what I have found to be best: 1. No internet or TV within 90 minutes of entering bed. This is a must. 2. No reading 30 minutes before bed. 3. No caffeine 5 hours before bed. 4. No alcohol 2 hours before bed. 5. No wireless RF in the bedroom -...

    Any Hi-Fi geeks here?

B&W's with Mac Monoblocks, would that count? :-D Love the imaging and flat response with the warmness of tubes. Looking to get a home sub that has very tight response with a minimum 24 dB/Oct slope at 60 Hz crossover in the future. Do you have any good experiences with particular brands of subs...

seeds Spicy Chickens Germination Trays...Bottom Watering...Condensation

I've had supremely good luck with boths seeds and clones using Oasis seed cubes. I think there are 104 to a standard 10"x20" tray. Just be sure to keep em warm and only bottom water. Works great.

    Our new baby girl!!!!

Congrats! She looks healthy and skeptical, a good combo! Looks your seed takes only a little while longer to germinate than some T-Scorp varieties

video Superhots Grafted Together! Success ** VIDEO ADDED IN UPDATED POST!**

Immensely clever! I'm following this to see how it turns out. Did you do a straight graft or did you pack the "splice" with NAA and/or coir or peat mix? Watch out for molds under the sran wrap - when I did this with shrubs years ago I used a couple winds of burlap and moistened them...

I've got family out near Hatch, NM and in WA state. This would make an AWESOME excuse to come visit them. I'll be following this to see where/when it goes.

HPS Light (1000 Watt) Ballast (Life Time Warranty) Hood, Glass Shroud

If only we could get our hands on Sulfur bulbs. Saw one at the inventor in Rockville, MD and saw a pair running all the time at the Air & Space Museum in DC. About the size of a golf ball, it rotates levitated on a stream of compressed air (~10 psi I think) while being bombarded with microwaves...

That is f*cked up. In this year 2012 it seems like most employers are literally smoking crack. Third incident I've heard of like this in the past 7 days. Un-friggin-real. The way the economy is going we may be all forced to put our horticultral skills to uses that are usually only allowed in...

    How cold is too cold?

I find that they do get very cranky below 6C - I try to keep mine above 10C whenever possible. I run a large outdoor hydro setup and am forced to make them finish early this year since I am moving soon. I cut off the majority of their water and give them only enough nutrients to keep their...

    auction Auction: 50 Fatalii Pods

Totally agree- Fatalis and ChocoHabs are my favorites. Just love the way the Fatalis have thin walls, awesome citrus flavor and a rip-roaring biting heat that doesn't stick around long anough to punish your throat/stomach yet punches you in the mouth/nose righjt away. Truly awesome peppers.

Need car/truck/SUV buying advice from fellow THP'ers

In the market for a used truck and wanted to know what THP'ers think would be a good truck for me. Don't want to spend more than ~$10k. I don't know a whole lot about trucks so I figured there would be some folks on here a lot smarter than me on the subject. Here's what I need it to do: - Hold...

    pests bug id please

Yup - dang stinkbugs. They'll get bigger and browner. Then they'll leave tiny pinprick marks on tomatoes in particular from what I've been experiencing this year. While they rarely do much if any damage to peppers, I just don't like them. We should send China kudzu from Georgia for their...
