Oddly one of my plants has just started flowering again after being moved indoors for the winter so if it fruits I'll get the camera out.

I did some jalapenos recently. Packed them into a jar, heated equal parts vinegar and water to a simmer and poured it over, then added some pickling spice. Sealed the jar then put the whole thing in boiling water for another 10 minutes. I used one of those jars with the 'safety button' on top...

Yup, the only opinion that matters! :) (to me at least) I actually meant that to mean without colourings and preservatives etc.

Preservatives. colourings and other assorted chemicals = I don't buy it. That also goes for animal products. A good chilli sauce is entirely vegetable based.

Just make sure you don't use "the shopping channel" :)

As AZ said, ground chilli is chilli powder, if they're properly dried you can do it with a mortar and pestle or probably just a rolling pin and chopping board (But you'd waste alot). You can use it to sprinkle on food or use it to make sauces, a very easy one is just to mix it with some ketchup.
