Can anyone help me out with this issue? I have noticed that the flowers are all opening but before they bear any fruit, they drop off. More and more flower buds are shooting out but there's no friut. What am I missing here?

I have noticed a white looking insect that are under some of the leaves of my pepper plant but I'm not sure what they are. They don't seem to move and it doesn't seem like they are harming the plant but I'd really like to know what they are and if they are in fact harming the plant.

Does anyone know how long it takes for the flower buds to open from the time they have been spotted? I've spotted some buds about 8 days ago and they haven't opened up yet.

Does anyone know what may be causing this? It seems that the base of the plant is rotting away or being eaten. The plant itself seems to be doing fine but I'm afraid if this continues, the plant will die. I had to use strings to prop the plant otherwise it would fall over on its side :(
