Looking for BOC plants or something similar to grow in colder climates

I grew BOC plants one year, here in montana,  and they were awesome.  Unfortunately I didn’t start seeds and would love some plants.  Any leads would be awesome.  Thanks folks.

need recomendations on super hot peppers to grow

I grow in Montana at 5000 feet without great success unfortunately.  Beautiful plants but light harvests for sure.  The thing about the cold weather is the pods that you do get are incredibly hot.  Fatali's that I grew were just as hot or hotter than the super hots I got from folks on this site...

seed-train Register now for the 2017 "seed train" already in progress

WOW,  I can see why it grows.  Even if I took 3 of each seed for next years grow it would be way too many.  But still... I WANT IN!!!  Where's the train schedule?

Red flags of "newbie" seed scammers on THP

I AGREE!!!!   Juanitospeppers sent me some great starts real late last year, as well pepperlover sent me some great stuff as well, and back when I first came online here the whole community (including I believe  joynershotpeppers) was super supportive.     I really hope that most of us are...

    Resource: Inexpensive Fabric Pots

I have heard of folks using those blue walmart bags if you don't care about the color.  Possibly worth checking out.  They are also cheap but I have no personal experience with them.

    food Crazy Fatali Superhot Stirfry?

I finally tasted one of my homegrown yellow fatalis yesterday.  According to some posts I have read on THP, Fatalis are hotter than habanero but not quite Superhots.  I definitely have had some stressed out plants but how much could that really up the heat level.     Firstly, I apologize for...

    food Spicy love note

I had a couple pods that I lost track of exactly what they were so I just cooked with them.  After tasting them both I determined that one was probably an Infinity pepper and the other was probably a Brain Strain.  Both were very hot!  So I made a huge pot of black beans and  then added the...

food Douglah X 7 Pot SR, Bulgarian Carrot, Jalabenero, Thai hybrid, Tomatillo salsa

I had a very small amount of salsa that I made last week with Bulgarian Carrot peppers and some heirloom tomatoes I grew. Not enough left to watch football with so I decided to add to it.  My buddy's buddy grew some beautiful tomatillos which I got my hands on and my other buddy gave me two...

    food Fiery Green Hornet (cocktail)

Similar to a sidecar, or even a traditional old-fashioned, of course minus the tonic.  Supercool attempt man I am sure it was awesome.  I like the habanero syrup idea because all of the spicy liquors I had tried have been too spicy to serve, unfortunately.  I have also been flirting with ideas...

sweets Strawberry Scorpion Jam with Pictures and Recipe

Nice, thats a lot of pepper jam.  Thanks for the explanation.  The heat of even the hottest fresh peppers I've tried seems to subdue quite a bit when cooked.  I found that adding some near the end or add the end will really kick it up a notch, also combining different hot peppers seems to have a...

food Stuffed Danish Squash with brussels and braised leeks

Ohh yaaa!  Crystal was on everything for a while, I got a 2 gallon container from work when I lived in New Orleans and would even drink it by the spoonful sometimes.  I try to keep it to chicken and red beans nowadays just to keep things interesting.   By the way, I did mix my red beans with the...

Show off deformed or funny pods

Wow!  Cool mutants.  I have another from the same plant that started to brown and then fell off, but never started to soften.  Actually there were three with double taillike things on this one plant.  Any ideas why?  Could this be a virus causing this?  Is it mostly bhut's or what?   Here is the...

food Stuffed Danish Squash with brussels and braised leeks

I tasted this 7 pot Congo SR, it was sweet, it first with a nice building heat and a slight floral aroma. I also used one of my thai hybrid chilis that has an abrupt quick heat that lasts.  I thought that this would ensure a pervasive heat throughout the dish.   Roasted Danish Squash stuffed...

Show off deformed or funny pods

Here is a cool deformed pod I couldn't help but share.  If you have any wild looking peppers please show them off here.   Pinocchio Pepper! It's actually a Bhut Jolokia,  the pods on this plant are all very different and none really look like a typical Bhut.
