    Sepia Serpent oil

I thought it was all water at first but the color of it is that same color of oil that had beaded up. It may have water in it as well but there was a ton of oil in it!

    Sepia Serpent oil

I have about 6 sepia serpent plants growing and they all produce stupidly hot pods. While cutting some open tonight I had a huge surprise. I got it on video. ...

heat Is there a new Hottest Pepper?

Oh yeah same parents that's happened but the same plant making three different colors and phonos is just odd.

chinense Morouga Scorpion x 7 Pot Brain Strain ?

That's how that one is as well but with the lighting it doesn't show it as well as it could, but yeah brain strains are one of my favorite peppers.

chinense Morouga Scorpion x 7 Pot Brain Strain ?

Brainstrain   Moruga   In terms of how I tell if I'm not sure, I cut it in half and if it has a more pointed center section it's a brain, if it's more rounded with most of the time a dimple in the bottom it's a Moruga. They also both smell different, Brains more fruity, Morugas more pungent and...

heat Is there a new Hottest Pepper?

Oh I know they are, I had plants throwing off brown and red pods this year but both great pods! I'm just saying they feel hotter than the reaper any day of the week.

heat Is there a new Hottest Pepper?

I've never had a plant no matter how unstable it may be come out with three different color phenotypes, now shape or size phenotypes yeah i've had that but color, no. Especially after 4 generations, it should be getting more stable thus having less variation. So I don't know about this one.   ...

soil Making my own soil from these ingredients?

I used my local university, they have a geology dept that will test soil for free or a low cost. I would bet your local colleges would as well!

soil Making my own soil from these ingredients?

I was not satisfied with the seedling soil I made this year but it was good enough I thought, but it could be better, and i think I've made it better!   As for all my seedling / potting soils I start out with peat moss 3 cu ft of it. I bought mine at Lowes, tested it's pH and found it to be at...

    Phenotype or pepper strain

Who knows man you may have some great crosses made now! If you want to be sure you could buy seeds over or trade with some people who have isolated strains and go from there, but you more than likely will have some crosses which isn't a bad thing. We all love crosses.

    What's inside my trinidad scorpion

That's oil for sure my friend!. I've sen most of the time that when peppers are still ripening they have quite a bit of water in them, but once the ripen up that goes away and you have just the oil. So the peppers must use the water to convert to oil white they ripen.

    Phenotype or pepper strain

If you had the plants isolated and took pods from those isolated plants you could take the phenotypes you liked and grow those out, selecting the phenotypes you liked each generation. By F6 - F7 you'll be quite stable and able to grow them without worrying about phenotypic variation as much. But...

    Testing for SHU

Douglahs are hot peppers, they hurt really bad as well. See that's what interests me, do these peppers all have differing amounts of caps in them, and different caps in them all together that make up their flavor profiles and distinct burns. I'm sure they do, but wonder if when tested do they...

    Testing for SHU

With all the new varieties of peppers coming out these days and different crosses that are out there it got me thinking about the SHU scale itself. Everyone knows that officially the Carolina Reaper is the hottest pepper right now, but most of us have tried peppers that seemed hotter, or very...
