Plants are looking pretty good!   "He said as soon as it flowers go to a 0.5-1.5-2.0 tsp/G (G-M-B) per week mix which should be 1,000-1,200 ppm + the water."   This sounds about right, as on my last nute change I used the same dosing but in tablespoons and 3 gallons of water. Although I thik...

    DEEDS ROOT CITY

Wow, things have been crazy at work. Havent had much time for the plants, let alone to update and browse the Glogs. Been out of town for a while, but luckily the plants didnt seem to mind almost 2 weeks between changes.   I did another nutrient solution refresh today:   Lowered the concentrations...

I use synthetic, pretty sure. Whatever General Hydroponics 3 part Flora series is. I'm really hoping so too! I had some thai's that dried out, and bounced right back with a little water. The reapers are being a bit stubborn, but gonna keep trying!

    DEEDS ROOT CITY

I did another nutrient solution refresh today:   Kept the concentrations at last weeks rates on all but the Douglah. Definitely noticing some over-feeding leaf curl so I dropped it again. Water levels were a little higher this time too, which lowered the concentrations even further.   3/18/14...

Technically the water level does not need to be up to the netpot, but I actually keep mine higher than recommended, and keep it about halfway through the hydroton. So my water levels are higher than normal. Not really sure why I do it this way... I just started that way, and have good results...

    3CTX's 2015 7 Pot Onslaught

Kinda hard for me to tell from the those pics that it's definitely not mold, but I doubt it... It looks like hydroton silt. Which is to be expected (especially since yours may not have received a thorough enough first wash). But it really shouldn't be too much of an issue as long as your pH...

Thanks Shane! Still nothing new and the rest of the current crop continues to ripen. So not sweating it at all  :D I'm slowly learning to just go with the flow... I'm realizing that despite my best efforts, things can't constantly be perfect. Can't sweat the small stuff!     I guess that makes...

Do they absorb cal/mag through leaves as well? Interesting.    On my last checkup the other 3 "large" tomatoes are starting to ripen, and none showing any symptoms of BER. Weird, it was just the one... but I'll take it!!

    3CTX's 2015 7 Pot Onslaught

Shouldn't really hurt TOO much, I just know that dust and silt can really gunk things up. Also, I think if there is too much it can mess with your pH. I really cleaned mine well, and didnt notice any problems. So if you can, I'd rinse it real well, and change out the solution if the pH starts...

Did you give your pellets a through wash before use? Chocolate jalepeno brittle sounds amazing!

    DEEDS ROOT CITY

I would agree. And I have been adding a Calcium/Magnesium supplement. Maybe it has to do with all the new growth and new tomatoes coming in there isn't enough? The only reason I don't necessarily buy that idea is that even when there were about 10+ much larger tomatoes ripening at the same...

    DEEDS ROOT CITY

Thanks Devv!   I did another nutrient solution refresh today:   All the plants continue to do well, but I keep thinking I'm over-feeding. Sometimes, less is more. So this time around I decided to tweak the nutes a bit by lowering them all a little and changing the concentrations by either...

    DEEDS ROOT CITY

Thanks Jeff. Tomato is coming along great. I've harvested somewhere between 20-40 tomatoes off of it (they're just cherries) but its been putting out alot of new growth, and has quite a few flowers again now too. Some of the flowers are already even turning into baby toms!       200 sounds...

Moving forward, nice! So you decided to go RO water after all? Since I'm not familiar with those notes, and If you plan to continue keep using the RO water you might want to consider supplementing some calcium and magnesium (ask your hydro guys what they think with this nute combo) but then...

    DEEDS ROOT CITY

Haha yeah, thats wayyyy low. And you don't want to add a bunch of UP after that. I usually drop mine to somewhere between 5-6, and then it will slowly climb (and possibly even drop back down) over the course of the plants uptaking water and nutrients. This is called pH drift, and it is a...

    DEEDS ROOT CITY

Depending on how early your start fertilizing, I would start at 1/4 strength (first true leaves) then up to half as a couple more sets show up, or as symptoms indicate the need for more food. Never had any experience with those nutes... but will be watching to see how they work out!! I think...

    DEEDS ROOT CITY

Weekly is when you will change out your nutrient solution (less often when the plants are small) but when I'm just topping off all I add is pH adjusted water. Since my water is like 8.0 I add a little bit of pH Down to it before I top off to help keep wild swings in check. If using tap water, I...
