Selling fresh pods and plants for overwintering MD/VA/WV

I am selling fresh super hot pods in the MD/VA/WV area. I am in the eastern panhandle of WV, about an hour from DC and close to the NOVA area.    I am also going to be selling plants for overwintering that were started from seed this past January. Many of them are 5ft tall already and producing...

    overwintering Is overwintering worth it?

If you have overwintered plants, I would like to hear from you because I have not been impressed with my OW plants and was wondering if I am the only one.   The plants I overwinter never seem to produce as much in their 2nd or 3rd year as they did in their 1st season, and they don't appear to...

    Dealing with blossom end rot

I just noticed blossom end rot on my peach ghost scorpions and red ghost scorpions. Most of my other varieties are looking ok. I can't believe there is a lack of calcium because they all got tons of FF bonemeal at transplant. We had a stretch of unseasonably cool and wet weather right before...

    Grocery store pepper ID

Found this pumpkin-shaped habanero looking thing at the store. The walls are way thicker than any habanero I have grown, closer to a bell pepper in thickness. Smelled like sweet red bell and tasted hotter than a jalapeno, but not hab level. Any idea what it is?

health Help! Something wrong with my plants.

I noticed this today, on 3 of my plants. All 3 affected plants were sitting next to each other. The plants on the other side of the table are ok. At first I thought it was stink bug damage, because they make perfectly circular dead spots on leaves, but I would like other opinions. In one of the...

for-sale Pepper seedlings for sale MD/VA/WV people.

I went overboard starting peppers this year.. I am selling 48 seedlings. I am in Summit Point, WV - that's close to Charles Town, WV, Winchester VA, Leesburg VA, Frederick, MD... and about an hour from Washington DC/Baltimore areas. I do not want to ship plants.   Here is my craigslist ad that...

    Forum rules question

Is it ok to post in here if I have extra plants I want to sell to people in my area? I don't do this as a business, I'm not talking about shipping plants, I just went overboard starting seeds this year. I can see why it might not be allowed though because I'm sure vendors pay something to...

One of these things is not like the others

This 'Jamaican Red Habanero' from Pepper Joes looks a lot like an annuum to me. It is pictured next to a Ghost and a Trinidad Scorpion. I could very well be wrong, as I have never grown this exact variety before. I planted several, and they all look like this. I am also sure I did not get...

pests STINK BUGS I hope they die in a fire

To all of my east coast people, PA/MD/VA/NJ/WV getting hit hardest with the scourge of stink bugs, please tell me if there is anything you have tried that actually WORKS to keep these evil things off your plants??   With the warmth of the past few days, they are starting to awaken again. As I am...

    May have started too early...

Soooo.... has anyone started their seeds 16-18 weeks before transplanting outside (final frost date)?   I realize advice is usually 8-10 weeks. I don't know where my head was at, I guess I was counting back from March instead of MAY lol.   The earliest seeds I started were Jan 21st, and many...

    What causes this to happen?

Of the 7 caribbean red plants sprouted so far, 4 of them have 3 cotyledons, or a fused 3rd leaf. I also have one reaper that sprouted like this, but all of the other varieties I'm growing are turning out normal.    Just wondering what causes it to happen? I'm not so much worried about it, just...

Selling fresh pods at the farmers market

Forgive me if this has been answered before, but I want to sell super hot seedlings, fresh pods, and maybe powder, at my local farmers market, and I am not sure if I need insurance.    I don't want someone to touch a reaper and then rub their eye or something and it comes back on me somehow. But...

Anyone using fox farm ocean forest?

I saw there were a couple of older threads on FFOF, but I would really like to hear opinions from anyone who has grown with it.   Some people say it is too hot as a seed-starting soil, and even too hot for transplanting seedlings. Others seem to have great results using it for both.   I already...

seeds Opinions please. Think I may have killed some seeds :(

Hi everyone,   Just introduced myself over in the welcome section. I'm new but I have been lurking on here a long time.   I started my seeds for this season 4-5 days ago since I'm in zone 6. I watered my seeds yesterday afternoon (they are in individual small dixie cups with 1/2 seed starting...

    Hi from WV!

Hey everyone, I've been lurking for a long time and finally decided to join. Have been growing super hots for 2 seasons now and couldn't have done it without all the great information I found here! I have been an organic gardener for a while now, but nothing has been as rewarding as growing hot...
