overwintering 12-02-11 Cutback for Overwinter

lookin awesome, i wish i attempted a long over winter here in canada. next year i suppose. Ill just need a huge space for it.

your grow looks awesome, and ill be watching. you'll have pods in no time

this is 20 days after cutback...The Botanicare Progrow and Liquid Karma have done their job..you may notice some leaf damage...that is because I used some organic insecticide on the plants while the lights were on....dummy...you can't do that or else it will burn the leaves....DOH!!

and I have buds forming already....looks like it is time to switch over to Botanicare ProBloom and some Liquid Karma

all I got to say is my grow box rocks....

Lookin' good, Ronnie!

I'm cutting back my "keepers" tomorrow. They're not really producing any more anyway. I'm thinking about making a how-to video and seeing if folks find it helpful.

Thank you sir.....I think a video would be great...

I am hoping I can get some early pods this coming season and if it keeps on, I may have fresh pods in January in the growbox

Wow Ronnie, Nice looking O.W.

Most people would be elated to have a plant that size when planting out!
Yours will be a "Monster" by then...

Greg

Can't beat that with a really hot stick!

This one is a TS that produced perfect shaped pods IMO...and I hope it does the same this coming year...

thanks Greg...a monster is what I want...this is the first year I have grown thru the winter since the winter of 07' when I grew an Orange Hab...and during the 08' season, that orange hab produced over 2500 pods...

Look at that trunk, awesome. Great job AJ!

thanks, the trunk is pretty decent size but you have to consider this is a 3rd year plant also...

MAn, i am quite jealous! i wish i had room to do a grow room/box for the "winter" here in Sd! how much does your electric bill fluctuate with the lights?

My grow box uses 1.32/day (756 watts@16hrs/day)

During the last of jan, all of feb and mar I run about 3kw 24/7. That's about $8/day

overwinter update....6 weeks from cutback...these plants keep on producing buds/flowers but no pods...that's cool, they will bust out when I put them outside...

as you can see, I moved them out of my grow box to the 90 watt UFOs supplemented with CFLs...the two on the lower left are kinda sickly...they got black flies pretty bad until I nuked them...

Nice healthy looking plants AJ! I'm just starting to bring my overwinters back to life now... I know you have said in the past, but how many lumens are in your grow box?

16 ft[sup]2[/sup] has 2800 lumens/ft[sup]2[/sup]. 16 42 watt CFL bulbs mixed between 6500K and 2700K

Lookin good, the heat killed me last year as well, not sure what I will do this year, I do have some shade cloth, and I'm gonna plant a bunch of Papaya around the beds in hope of a lil shade...

here's the thing about the heat...it can be hot, even extremes of 100 but if you have a heavy dew each morning, that should take care of most of it...plus if you can keep your root zone cooler than ambient temperature, that helps a lot too...with me not growing in the ground, I suffer the consequences....

Man, that is so true. My in-ground plants were SO much better off. Still no fruit during the summer, but WAY less need for water every morning.

that's why I put the drip fertigation in...set it, leave it alone and it does the rest...I love being able to adjust the water flow to the plants...down to .26 ounce increments....I like to think of my growing as hydroponic in soil....

One day, Ronnie. One day. Until then, it's a war every, what? May 15th or so? :)
