It's never too early to get started!

Sooo... 2022 season is over and most of my 2023 plants are already there - no reason not to start a new thread already!

While all my current plants are technically overwinterers, only a couple have grown through the 2022 season and are considered interesting enough to keep for next seasons grow.

Let's start with the famous Schneider farms SB plant, which will be going into it's third season in 2023. It currently doesn't look all that nice but that was also the case during the winter of 2021 so no worries here...

Always grow more annuums! (If you don't mind me giving the advice. ) Which varieties are you planning?

Actually I used to be an annuum only guy. When I first started growing peppers I tried some low heat chinense and found they tasted like so I decided to stay with annuums. My taste has evolved somewhat since then and also I think chinense plants look much more beautiful compared to annuums so I started to grow more and more chinenses. But I have to be selective, if the chinense taste is too pronounced then I still dislike them. It's why I like the Schneider farms scotch bonnet: the typical chinense taste is not too pronounced in that variety (at least - not on my plant...)

Hot annuums on the other hand can sometimes taste very bitter, like thai varieties for instance. I don't like that either. The jeromin is a good variety to me... it's sweet, has heat and isn't bitter

Maybe we can do a trade end of this season? I have my eye on the Jaranda and the Ñora now. I would love to trade some seeds of those for any of the seeds from the varieties I'm growing this year.

In an impulse I added Tap De Cortí to my list of annuums yesterday . Seeing it coming already... it's gonna be a fight for grow space again... But at least the wife will be happy

The good thing is that annuums usually stay smaller compared to chinenses. I might keep more than one per variety... I have a couple of which fresh seeds would be welcome. In that case I think it is better to have more than one plant of that variety...
