 Chiles are day neutral, ie,  lighting period has nothing to do with fruiting.

Another year with clear excellent results on my peppers with 24 hr lighting through the first pot-up.

Tomatoes don't seem to have benefitted as much.

The rest period hypothesis is bunko.

It's been very well established for a very long time that peppers don't need a rest period.  So I'm not sure what you think you've debunked.

Here's one for the next time you try: (2) isolated grow rooms, with 24 hour lighting in one, vs 8-12 hour lighting in the other.  Let's debunk the myth that one gets a return on the investment (electricity, wear and tear on lights, heat generated, etc) for running their lights all day, every day.
