video 3 Guys Try Pure Capsaicin (Video)

One of five possible things:

1. Fake
2. Wasn't PURE extract
3. The endorphin effect was so profound that they were too numb to feel the intense pain
4. They have unusually high - nearly unrealistic - tolerance
5. They were drugged at the time and therefore less receptive to pain

I don't think that powder was as hot as advertised. Nowhere near a strong enough reaction from anyone. Most important, not enough sweat or mucus.

I've seen dozens of these vids now, and whatever that was they ate wasn't 15-16 million Scovilles - no way.

ETA: I am not saying the guys in the video are dishonest - just that they may have eaten
Something that was't as hot as advertised.

I agree with those of you who think it might be fake... No red faces, no tears, no agony, convulsions, or looks of fear.

Whatever they tried was probably gross... But I don't think it was capsaicin.

Having been unlucky enough to try some lab grade capsaicin, I can thouroughly assure you that was not anywhere close to what they should have experienced, passing a kidney stone, and crushing my l4 l5 vertebrea paled in comparison. I couldnt quite describe the sensation as pain, but more like having your tongue tattooed with needles that were electrified and coated in hydrochloric acid. Instant drooling and sweat that lasted till we were nearly dehydrated and the closest anything has ever brought me to hallucinations (though we may have been i think my brain still tries to repress the experience.)that wasnt intended for that porpose. The only visual aid that comes close is the scene in fear and loathing in las vegas where thompson supposedly tries the pure adrenaline.

No i will not ever do it again or put it on video unless you are offering a exorbitant amount of money, coupled with a nice term life insurance policy paid in full.

I forgot to mention the Extreme anxiety and feeling of impending doom and death that also accompanied the experience.

I understand where you are coming from having experienced the joy of intense kidney stone pain, you are the second person who mentioned they almost hallucinated from a pepper experience (this person from a consuming certain excess of brain strains). Yours was with pure capsaicin, a much more intense experience. I have no doubt you felt and experienced what you did, and that your last thought of extreme anxiety and impending death in the above post iis sincere as well. It has been my experience simply with supers that about ten percent of the people who don't take them seriously regret it. I have yet to see a novice eat one of these things and not, drool, sweat, hiccup and curse and flop around like a fish out of water (now that is funny).

Rhody...

Y'all talking about haluinations reminds me of the Simpsons when Homer eats the pepper and goes on a peyote-like journey, finding his spirit animal, the coyote.

they would not be laughing =..fake
their faces would all turn beat red =...fake fake
slowly taking time pouring milk shows ..fake
they would all be laying on the ground in large snot puddle crying only the word HossspiTal.

let's say when comparing pepper spray which is only 2 to 5 million
and seeing what the effects are to a person

example:

now looking at the scoville chart

It's safe to say this is not pure capsaicin so my conclusion is fake as hell

Just a couple things to point out--

in my opinion, what they ate likely WAS 15 mil (95% pure) capsaicin powder. It looks like what I have worked with. I don't think they faked it.

What they totally missed was that capsaicin does not dissolve in water (ie saliva). Just eating it straight like they did, they totally missed 90% of the reaction or mouth feel that they would of had (and we would expect to see) if they had consumed the same amount of powder that had been dissolved in alcohol or oil.

What we also didn't see was the 10-15-20 minutes later when the body absorbed the capsaicin into the blood stream and they got the full-on endorphin rush. The one bloke with all the snot and drool might of had some alcohol in his mouth (from drinking a beer or something before hand) so he would have reacted harsher than the other two.

Either way, I think they were pretty stupid for dealing with the powder so carelessly. In it's powder form, capsaicin is an extreme irritant, and they could have done some serious lung damage by inhaling the powder.

side note- from what I understand, it is nearly impossible to get 100% pure 16 mil SHU capsaicin outside of a lab. And even through a lab it is exporbently expensive. What is mostly on the market is 95% pure 15.2 mil SHU capsaicin. Small, but important detail~~~

hmm.. before I will consider your theory as fact

I think they need to redo the entire thing just to confirm it's a legitimate test
and this time cut to the end of the video after the full effects take place.

and because I am not a cruel person they should try it this time with a small dose of pepper spray to tongue.
if they can handle pure extract they should have no problems with a safe non toxic pepper grade spray.

Maybe you could just... uh... shove me into the pool?

If I put you in the pool right now, you would sink like a G** D*** stone... you took too much man... too much, too much.

Sorry... I love that movie. One of the best book to movie adaptations I have ever seen.

I think SalsaLady makes a good point. It would be interesting to see them mix that much with a shot or two of tequila, and then shoot it. May have had different results that way...
