A question concerning wood chips

I know that wood chips are a good mulch.  The source that I have at my disposal gets their wood chips from a mill.  I've tried contacting some tree trimmers in my area, but haven't had any luck with them.  It's not like I have an area where a pile of chips could be dumped.  So, should I be concerned with wood chips from a mill?

you wanna be careful there is no black walnut or exotic wood mixed in they tend to be quite toxic
 
im also not sure if my info is correct but too much wood can draw CUT WORMS which eat your roots, a little however IMHO doesn't hurt
 
im sure you will get better more in depth info from someone else, im not all together sure of the above info(cut worms)

As a mulch that will work just fine.  What you really want to look for though is the chips from trimming companies or the city/town/county you live in.  These are the young and tender branches less than 3in in diameter and container tons of beneficial nutrients that they will release as they break down.
