Hi All,
So I wasn't going to do a glog but I have the itch after perusing through all the others. I have a bit of catching up to do I see. I'll do my best to update and contribute to others as well. First time growing peppers from seed here, last year I grew nursery plants.
Ok, so first let's go with the list, but first I want to thank the following members for contributing to my grow, I really appreciate it guys and can't wait to share seeds back out in the fall. So thanks go out to, in no particular order, Jamison, Hendrix1386, MGOLD86, howardsnm1, jerrymart, Spankyscolts, Cone9, Justaguy, JoynersHotPeppers, Big Lew, Ocho Cinco, and of course all the members of the Great Canadian Seed Train. Hat's off to you all.

So, as you may notice, I went very heavy on the Chinenses. I wanted a sampling year to try and find some favourites in the species and go from there so for most I will only have one plant with a few exceptions such as the Cumari do Para. Next season I'm really hoping to expand in other areas. Also, I'll be purchasing some greenhouse starts at plant out that I just don't have space to start myself including:
Early Jalapeno
Cayenne
Hot Thai
Caribbean Red Habs
I also have 3 overwinters - two orange habs and a scotch bonnet - that seem to be doing fantastic.
So, things got off to a bit of a slow start right around new years. I had everything in the cold basement with the T5 too close etc etc. Here are a couple sprouts:
Things moved slowly until we went on vacation to Costa Rica for a few weeks at the end of Feb/March. They weren't looking great before I left but they were ok. Anyway, while we were gone they were heavily over-watered, and in addition to this I don't think the soil I was using was working very well. Here are some sad photos:
Finally, after several changes - a new watering regiment, changed out the grimy soil for new stuff, and brought everyone upstairs into the warmth - I am having some good results! Note: Far left 7 are controls (soil unchanged with normal watering) and much of the other yellowing are plants that were re-potted later because I didn't have time to do them all the same day. Forgive the crappy joining job I did a 60sec photoshopping so as not to get too cluttered in the first post.
As you can see I started a bunch of backups shortly after returning from down south just in case the originals didn't make it, but now I have quite a surplus! Not sure what I will do with them all but I just can't bring myself to genocide. I'm thinking I may try and squeeze some in at the girlfriend's parent's place and stick others here and there without worrying too much about the soil they inherit. We shall see.
Thanks for stopping by!
