Yup. It's cooked on a trompo (spit) like a doner kebab, but the spices are all Mexican. The sauce and pineapple. And it's a taco, not a pita. So goooood!
 
It's totally Mexican. I mean, you could say Pasta is Chinese, not Italian because they cooked noodles first. But the pasta in Italy is unique to Italy, like al pastor is unique to Mexico.
 
Origins though, yeah, they are interesting. So many things are derived from similar things.
