Aji Charapita - $25,000.00 per Kilo ???

The articles are a couple years old.  So i it is BS, I would imagine it debunked by now.  Give it a google.  Anyone have any insight on this?  $25,000.00 a pound.  Seriously?

Lol...no this story just keeps getting brought up.
I guess you'd have to charge a ton for charapita...so that you an afford to pay your laborers to harvest the millions of little fruits you'll reap.

I know someone that bought a van after selling about a pound or two.

Link is to fresh at $5,268.42.  Sale price btw.
Dried pods are on sale for $8,142.11

They are tiny, so gotta figure a SFRB is around a pound.  I sold boxes of fairly small aji for $16.00 last season.  Could they be incredibly difficult to grow?  Could this be one of those rich people things like poop coffee?  Do they make your penis grow an extra inch or two?

Most importantly, what idiots are buying these things?

AJ don't worry man. It's $25,000 per kilo not pound. It's actually an extremely good value at a mere $11,363 per pound. I've rarely even hit six figures on a typical order.

I will get my whip and Indiana Jones hat on right now, on my way to South America.  Not sure if it is on your list cause forget the name.  From memory, there is a pepper that hasnt been shown to exist since an 1800s era botanist / explorer wrote about it.  Gave me the imagine of a Pepper Indiana Jones.

My brain works in odd ways.  When I think of wilds and land races, I think Indiana Jones.  When I think of hybrids I think of Spy vs. Spy.

Hmm drunk post. Joke did not work, don't know anyone that sold any. :)

Damn it, I could use a new van.  On a serious note, going to grow them because with all the talk on the internet they would be a good one to hit local restaurants and chefs with.  Ask a reasonable price, they look it up, and then they think they are taking advantage.  See I am starting to get this marketing thing.
