Hi guys, from the great white north!
Love the site, love reading about all the great things you guys are doing to keep the faith. I've been lurking for quite some time, thought it was time to post now and then.
Up here in Canada we are still locked in winter's death grip...calling for -15 to -20 celcius all next week, with 10-15cm (5-7 inches) of snow expected over the weekend. Need something to disctract me from freezing to death.
Love the superhots. Grew a few reapers, scorps, bhuts and 7 pots a couple of years ago, and tried to overwinter them in pots in our sunroom. Was working awesome until the aphids started winning. By the spring they outnumbered us in both shear numbers and "weight". Wow. Almost resulted in my divorce.
The good news was that I ended up harvesting quite a few pods...remarkable given where we live (in the mountains, zone 2A)...cold at night, cool during the day...in SUMMER!
The bad news...they weren't allowed back in the house for a second winter.
So now I'm back on the hunt for new varieties. Got the go ahead to over winter again in the house, until the little nasties rise up and ask for a key to the house.
Looking forward to some fruitful discussion and hoping to learn a LOT.
