Well where to start... so i have a 7ft tall right at 4 ft wide and about 2 ft deep wooden "armoire"... and I'm going to gut the interior and put in a shelf system that I can adjust the heights of shelves along with 4 foot fluorescent shop lights... as of right now I plan on getting the stc 1000 temp controller to connect to a couple computer fans for temp control them also have an idea of getting a computer power supply and connecting fans for each shelf along with a dimming switch per shelf to control the speed of fans? Not sure if that would matter... trying to find a shelf system to have airflow... Also not sure what size bulb to get as far as t5 to t12.. having a hard time understanding all of the wattage etc etc.. also everything will be on timers.. I guess main things I'm looking for right now is what type of fixture and lights to get and comments on the fans idea? Also will be a first for me growing indoors.. I did start seeds late this past spring and seem to have caught the bug! Can't seem to stop thinking about this stuff!

If you can afford the upfront cost T5s or even better T5HOs (High Output) then go with those. T5s will be: compact, energy efficient, and bright. T12s aren't very bright, inefficient, and large so stay away. As for T8s they are cheaper and fine for seedlings but won't let larger plants thrive. The T8s will work if you're on a budget but make sure to get them close to the plants. I'm not sure if the computer fans will be strong enough but it's worth a shot.
