annuum Are El Jefe's hotter than normal Jalapeno's?

Are El Jefe's hotter than normal Jalapeno's? And if they are what are their SHU? I took a bite out of our first harvested ones (with seed, pod and flesh), and bout blew my head off. Or am I just a wuss? I took two more bites (just to prove that I am a real pepper belly), to no avail, I feel like a wimp......I need a hug.

One of the most picante chiles I have ever eaten whole raw was a xalapa (jalapeno). One of the wussiest was a tangerine bell, a chinense.

All chiles vary in heat even on the same branch of the same plant.

Thanks for the info Willard.

I went to the store once and bought some Jalapenos while mine were still in the infant stage and these things were ridiculously hot. Normal Jalapenos being around 5000 SHU these had to be in the 20,000 range.
