Are Rocoto plants toxic?

I just read that the Rocoto leaves carry toxins and that the sap can cause blisters.I already knew that Capsicum are part of the Nightshade family, and had no interest in eating the leaves. This is the only time I've seen anything concerning plant toxicity, so I thought I would ask all of you here. My main concern is handling the plant, overwintering, and if I should keep pets away etc.

I read somewhere (probably here) that the seeds were toxic, but I don't know. Hell, I can't even get one to produce ripe pods for me.

never any blisters noticed
but it seems there may have been itchy irritation from some stem juices
maybe like ficus sap reaction but i ain't as "sensitive" as some

no nothing below the belt
get your mind out of the gutter

remember the general public refers to peppers "burning" even without 'blistering'
