Are These Scorpions?

Last Spring I bought this plant with some fruit on it. It grew to about 10" diameter and produced 2 crops of fruit before winter. According to my Hispanic workers, the second crop was really hot and it lingered for 30 minutes.. I thought it was gone but was happy when it came back like a weed. I transplanted it to a 12" pot and its grown to 24" in diameter. It's gone wild in producing, yes! 
The insert that came with it originally said Scorpions. Whats everyones opinion

I would say yes, they are likely to be scorpions.
