Are you watching Jeopardy?

Men vs. Machine. Watson is... different. Great on some things, clueless on others. Sort of like an idiot savant.

Just three days. Tomorrow is suppose to be Double and Final Jeopardy - not sure what is planned for Wednesday.

Mike

Just finished watching it.

Watson was interesting, and the way it started out I thought it was going to run away and hide with the show.

But then Watson started making errors to questions that even I was getting, so it'll be fun to see how the computer does over the rest of the show.

I heard about this on the news & radio. I'll say its interesting & kinda scary at the same time that a computer/machines is getting this smart, what will it be like in say about 20-50 yrs ?
on the radio they said "it" had no access to website search, only what was down loaded into it, so if something wasnt loaded into it or was new it would only come up with something close to what it could find for the words given.

Haha, it would be interesting if it did get linked into the internet, but then maybe it could come crashing down with a virus or something.

But some say that it is only a matter of time before these machines become sentient...

I have to wonder about the bets Watson made? But the programmers seemed to have done a good job giving it the odds of hitting a dalily double.

Mike

Yeah, Watson really took a commanding lead on tonight's show.

I wonder what the format will be for tomorrow's finale show.

And his bets, although I can't see it, are probably based on some probability betting algorithm.

But I agree, his first Daily Double bet tonight sounded so nerdy that it drew laughs from the audience.

Ken looked like he knew he was playing for second place. Watson nailed the timing of when to click in almost perfectly.
