Beacuse it's not the water that makes 'em shrink. Its putting them in the clothes dryer afterwards that makes 'em shrink. Unless, of course, you have it set to "delicate".

I don't drink anything that doesn't have alcohol in it expect for distilled water.....so I'm going to say distilled water.
