Authentic Arawak Bar-B-Q Sauce

I just made some chicken the other night with a BBQ sauce that is very similiar.   I got my recipe off a Carribean site, but the only real difference is a regular onion for the Shallots and pineapple juice rather than Orange juice.  All in all, I bet they are very close in taste.

With only 2 Scotch Bonnets, you will not taste the heat much, but some of youre friends who are not into heat might.

Here is a link to the recipe I used to make the Carribean sauce.

:surprised:

Interesting. When the Spanish first encountered the Arawak people, a priest noted that the Arawaks "doused all their foods in hot sauce made of chilli peppers, that was so hot it was impossible for anyone but them to eat it."

Perhaps this is the reason the cannibal Caribs hunted Arawaks down to kill and eat...

Phew, them Arawaks is SPICY !   :D
