Sown on 8 december, and got excellent germination rate around 95%. That is already a success for me.

Im now still waiting YBS seeds from pepper-guru, and will start my second grow batch along with 2018 grow down.

Feel free to comment.
Thanks guys.

I made the fabric pots myself using beach umbrella materials left over, glued and sewed.
The size is about 60 liter or 15 gallons.
I am running out of potting mix and container now, and will continue tomorrow.

Here are my candidates for the grow down.
Still very small, but they are growing.

Hello.. I'm from singapore so we're pretty similar in terms of climate. And also pest-wise. Lost almost all my plants from aphids. And the job has taken away my time and energy from gardening. Started to try planting some seeds recently so thought i'd check in here. Your plants seem to be thriving. I'll be following your glog for updates and motivation. Haha!

Selamat Maju Jaya!

Hello, kyox..
Tropic is heaven for peppers, and also for pests. I feel you bro..

Last month was a nightmare for me.
Fungus infestation killed 2/3 of my pepper plants.
Extremely hot midday makes my plants wilted. Then i watered them, too much.
Boom.
Root and stem rot strike like wild fire. Killed the plants overnight.
It was frustrating.

Sorry about your loss. Glad they we not all affected.

And we've all been there done that for sure.

Perhaps it's too early for the mulch?

Yess devv, i think so.
I use mulch too thick, it hold water too much.

Now, i need to sterilize my potting mix.
Any idea how?
Or do i have to throw it away?
I'm on a tight budget here.

I've been putting my used potting soil in black plastic trash bags, and placing them in the full sun, so the solar heat will kill any of the bad bacteria/fungus they may have. I keep the soil around 3"s deep as I spread the bags out. You'll be surprised how hot they get using this method. It sure beats using an oven or a microwave ;)
