Banana Pepper Sauce

Hi All,

Here goes my first newb post....I love banana peppers amongst others and would like to make a hot sauce with them. Here is the recipe i came up with after about 2 hours of web research. Just thought i would post this up to get opinions before i go ahead and make a large mistake....Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

3 cups of banana peppers (pickled from jar)
1 cup Jalapeño peppers chopped coarsely
1 clove of garlic minced
½ onion diced
2 cups of white vinegar
2 tablespoons of kosher salt

Blend all together and then put in jar in fridge for a week.

Banana peppers are not very hot, and you would want to start with fresh peppers and cook the sauce, not pickled peppers.

Your recipe is more of a relish. Hot sauces are cooked, not just chopped up and put in vinegar.

just go to pepperfool.com and you'll scores of hot sauce recipes, if you can't find one specifically for banana peppers just adjust the recipe to your liking, I am just about to make the Hawaiian hot sauce but modified to my liking.

but I don't see why you couldn't use pickled banana peppers, just find a recipe and dump them in a food processor and call her a sauce.
