indoor Basic CFL Powered DIY Grow Tent

Per request from another member here.... details on the little CFL grow tent I built this summer to grow some chilis indoors during the year.

Started with a $20 'greenhouse', dtiched the plastic cover.

Framed it out with some firring strips and woods screws.

Used some emergency blankets and black plastic drop cloth to cover it. This combo is simply stapled to the wood frame.

Awesome, thanks for posting! I'm thinking of maybe building something similar to this for my indoor DWC, however I don't have much room, so I'm not sure how well it would fit in with my space requirements.

What kind of space do you have?

Do you happen to have a link to the LED light panel? you said it was cheap and the ones I'm used to from the saltwater industry are anything but cheap.

I bought this one from Amazon here in Germany. They don't have these cheap LED panels on eBay or Amazon in the states?

Even though it is cheap I think it works.... the plants that sat in the middle of the tent, under the LED, always looked better than the others.

Sweet thanks! They may have them I haven't checked. If you happen to see a link let me know. Do you at least have an idea of the price you paid?

No more than $30 US.

Check my other threads in Grow Tech. We are going to do a DIY LED comparo to T5 lamps.

4 sq ft is a good size space. Need to know exact dimensions then you can get your best DIY on.

I just did some measurements. I'm currently working with a volume of 4 ft consisting of 2 ft height( can be easily expanded), 1 ft depth, and 2ft of width

Fantastic! The first grow house I bought for my carnivorous plants didn't last the winter. The plastic covering ripped quite quickly and I can't get a replacement. So I could buy a whole new grow house for the carnivorous plants and use the old frame for an indoor grow tent!

How did you fix the lights to the board?

I can't find any high wattage CFL bulbs on amazon.de, only on amazon.co.uk. I'll order a couple for when I go home at Christmas. I find it interesting that you are combining CFL's with LED's. I'm beginning to wonder if plants do better with both of them. I'm going to start a new thread on it once I have done a bit more research.
