Ok so Chris offered to send me one of his “Pimenta Chris Fat” Chiles to review. When I opened the mailbox and saw the 6”x6”x6” square box the first thing I thought of was Pinhead’s cube from the Hellraiser movies. I was thinking… “Do I really want to touch this?” LOL So when I opened it, there was a colorful selection of peppers included with the Pimenta Chris. Once again, Chris’s generosity has no bounds. So with out further a due :
Audio screwed up again... but I got through the best parts before it cut out. I also got over the stomach pain before the end of the video and it never came back but it was brutal. This one is so hard to call for a heat rating. It had instant heat and just oozed with capsaicin as I chewed it, but the mouth burn was almost non-existent. Maybe I went numb? A little burn on the sides of the tongue, lots on the back of the throat and tonsils, about a single blowtorch but not as bad as with the 7's or Douglah crosses. Stomach pain was terrible but was over by the end of the video. Not razor blades but like really bad heart burn. I actually felt like it might come back up for just a few seconds. Flavor was a tiny bit fruity but mostly tasted like capsaicin. Still, it was easier for me to eat than the douglah crosses or a 7 pot. When I cut it open it smelled fruity and reminded me of a scorpion. Texture was so nice, more velvety and juicy by far than a 7 pot. Infinity is definitely a scorpion variant. After the audio cut out I complained about the stomach pain then it finally started to break. I started feeling much better about 15 seconds after the audio stopped. It’s an hour later now and my stomach is fine. No reoccurrences of stomach pain. (I did eat a handful of Doritos and a Banana after the video was over) That was a brutal experience. I still am up at arms at how to call the heat level. The effects on the body are up there with the hottest I have ever tried (It just felt hot) but the burn was less than I would have expected given the stomach pain. I have always said that I prefer the scorpion burn, (minus the stomach pain) I think that my mouth tolerance just handles what ever type of capsaicin the scorpion generates better than it does the 7’s. Ok so would I grow this next year???? I want to try more red scorpions to compare first.(I am growing Morouga, Butch T, and PepperLovers original strain) I was always curious what the infinity pepper was, Thanks Chris for letting me experience it for myself!
More cool one's tomorrow.
