pests Beauveria bassiana, fungus that kill aphids

Okey here we go, after a while fighting numerous chili infestation i finally find a cheap and reliable tips on killing termites, trips, mite, aphid etc even malaria carrying mosquito. The fungus is called Beauveria Bassiana (nice name for a killer  ).

So how does it worked, well it work by eating the shit out of it host from inside out and make em white (probably scare to death  ), it is airborne, skin contact to other pest make instant infection. As to be said this is the micro enemy of garden pest, no effect on human (unless you have an suppressed immune system ), animal and plant. Easy to duplicate.

But to be safe i would recommend isolation before using this (allergy issue, kids, etc ), don't want any beneficial insect like butterfly or bee killed by this fungus. It's real cheepo here, like $0.8 100gram. Use half of gram per infected plant.

Just isolated 3 plant and see how it goes.

It says it kills mites.Whooo Hoooo!
Gonna have to check that stuff out.
Since nothing that actually works for killing pests is legal in Ca.
I wonder if I can get it here.

Edit:

Going to have to find a small size , $100.00+ a quart.
Some versions have a very short shelf life...Kills everything, depending on what strain you get.

The more I read about it the less I like it.
It's like an organic DDT.

Yeah, glad to see someone have the same idea and the relief after finding this out, don't know the availability in your place, but here it's dirt cheap. Let me know if you having trouble finding it, i'm glad to help sending it to you.

I know, that's why i recommend isolation to the plant.

good to hear about biological remedies.. here i use red ants( Oecophylla smaragdina) to fight against aphids and thrips in nursery as well as in the newly transplanted fields..just release it at the targeted areas...the ants will do the part for you..

Great post, and follow up ....definitely good info.As to using ants, well unfortunately, the "fire ants" here are aphid ranching fools, though they will eat any other insect(almost never have a horn worm infestation)and the red ants would get devoured short order. Thanks guys-

Here our fire ants raise aphids as though they are cattle maintaining herds and rotating fields...

Thanks for the information, keep us posted if it works good for you.
Over here in usa seems its quite expensive, all i can find is concentrate liquid you mix with water, is that what your trying?

What i observe for many year's, any ant will give shelter and protect aphid's, aphid's are like bee to them (they secrete sugar stuff from their arse, and ant like that arse secrete stuff).

The packaging that i bought is powder based, you mix it with water + sugar + cooking oil and spray it to the plant, wait about 3-5 day to see the result. The spore it self (after diluted), if not finding anything to kill (host) will be death in 2.5 day's (100%). Duplicating/clone is easy as making worm tea, and oh dont use this stuff with any organic/chem pesticide(the sulphur will kill em) At least that was the package said.

As smokemaster said, this stuff is like organic ddt, it's like airborne, skin contact AIDS disease to those critter, i take precaution isolating my infected plant in a box. after it using some light sulphur base pesticide to make sure i kill the BVR thoroughly (my friend told me i'm to over, but hey i got kid's at home).

Red ants ( weaver ants) Oecophylla smaragdina ). when their nest are disturb, these disoriented ants can be very aggressive.. they produce formic acids which is toxic to aphids and thrips.
yeah recently, they are many research papers on usage of red ants as biological control on crops in south east asian countries .

So rather than just letting Red Ants build nests near your pepper plants, you need to stir them up when you have an aphid problem?
