Best Aji Variety?

This year I'm growing my first Aji- the Lemon Drop. My question is, what are the other best varieties to try out? I've heard a lot about the Mango, Pineapple, Amarillo, and Fantasy, but as I have limited growing space I can only try one at a time! Which ones do you guys recommend?

Aji Pineapple and Aji Panca are two of my favorite peppers.  I have yet to try any other ajis personally, but I imagine they would be great too.

Of the AJI that I have grown I was especially partial to the Omnicolor, Cito, and Dedo De Moca.

For me the Amarillo is great but IMO its a two season plant unless you live in a region with an extended growing season.  When I grew Amarillo in Ohio first year production was pretty limited.  I have about 5-6 month growing season so its not for me unless I overwinter and I hate over wintering plants.

cheers

Do you think I'd have a long enough season? I'm in 8b (Southern GA)

I think that you should try to make room for more baccatums in your grow, even if you have to give up a couple of annuum or chinense varieties to do it. There are too many really great tasting baccatums out there to limit yourself to growing just one variety per year, IMO.

Another suggestion is to wait for people to start offering SFRB boxes of fresh pods, and look for the opportunity to grab a baccatum variety pack box. This will allow you to try different types for yourself, and see which ones YOU prefer, rather than just relying on the opinions of others. Someone like Wicked Mike for example, could probably put together a great baccatum sampler box if asked.  :)

That being said, my personal pick for one to try first would be either Aji Fantasy, Sugar Rush Peach or Sugar Rush Cream. All three have fairly similar heat and flavor IMO, so just pick the variety that has the pod shape and color that you like best.

My second pick might be Brazilian Starfish. Great tasting pepper with an unusual shape.

Since you are already growing Lemon Drop, you can wait and see how you like those before you decide to also grow Aji Pineapple, since they are very, very similar peppers. Just my opinion.

Growing Omni-colors for the first time.   Beautiful plants and prolific as heck.  Peppers start out light yellow. Over 2 inches in length already.   Haven't tasted em yet.   Waitin' on the color changes. :)

Yes, much longer season than I have in Ohio anyhow!    Still if you have the ability to overwinter and dont mind doing so the Amarillo is worth it.

I am basically a chinense guy so even though I enjoy some Aji I like Superhots and Habs the most.

Only had a couple varieties so far.
Lemon drop being my favourite. They're so good can eat like at least 6 on a cheese toastie.

Growing the omnicolour this year so have that to look forward to.

Had a dissapointment on a packet of seeds, i bought from sea spring seeds, where the species was wrongly identified on the packet.
Cant really fault them on anything else though they all popped up pretty quick as did the other packets i bought from them.
The variety was apple crisp btw. Could have dine with a mild bell pepper like baccatum.
