How does everyone dry seeds for planting? Does everyone just lay them out and just dry them.
I Just usually air dry them on paper plates, sometimes I will save seed from pods I dehydrate, since I dehydrate at very low temps to preserve the robust color the seeds are usually still very viable

For long term storage, I use this method.  It works, as I've germinated 4 + year old seeds preserved with this method:

Step 1 - Let air dry for 30 days in a paper cup at room temperature.
Step 2 - Place the seeds in a sealed Ziploc, with a desiccant pack to absorb moisture with  - something like this - https://www.amazon.com/Silica-Gel-Desiccants-2-1-Inches/dp/B003DKQB02/
Step 3 - Place the bags in a yellow manila folder that closes completely and try to keep the folder away from where it is too hot.

If you want to avoid potential burns from handling seeds later, you can first wash the placenta off, but the added material will not interfere with viability.

This is what I'm doing this year. When the seeds dry I'll just fold them up and put them away. I just gut pepper right over the bag and use the bag to wipe off the knife clean. Been doing this with no gloves too and managed to keep my hands clean.
