Big Jims with nearly no heat!!

Mine in New Mexico last year were the hottest I've had in northern NM with the exception of varieties being grown for heat(ie: Lumbre, Barker's etc). If they're being grown within 50 miles of a coastline or below 4000 feet you've achieved the result of low-elevation with a moist growing habitat.
Within 5 miles of ocean and less than 1000 ft, probably closer to 500 ft.

You want more picante chile, grow more picante chiles.............there are plenty.
In CO medium was perfect for my taste. So we bought seeds that were supposed to be just that. But I am trying to figure out what went wrong cause the resultant peppers have nearly NO heat.

You are probably right. But don't want to buy more seeds for a hot pepper and actually end up with hot! Want a medium level of heat no matter what the seed packet is labeled.

OBTW, no source for seeds here. Have to get into the country so takes time and lots of money.
