Bigglesworth's Family Snapshots

When you initially set up the plot how did you prep the dirt? Did you find any drainage issues because you just removed grass, or did you till for that?

The initial prep was 5 years ago just tilled grass under and added some topsoil.

Each time I plant I dig a shovel or two of the native clay soil out and replace with compost and bagged topsoil.

Over time the whole plot has become loose and fertile.

Drainage is good because my lot slopes gently.

This year i used botanicare ferts and supplements. Best results ever.

Man I'm glad there are recipe threads on this site I'll be cooking up a storm. Thanks THP!!!!
