biting the tips of my peppers

The long peppers next to my house have the tips bit off. I am guessing birds? Some of the peppers are over a foot from the ground so I find rodents unlikely. Also the pots themselves are over a foot high so again rodents seem a stretch.

Any tips on how to handle this?

I interrogated my wife and two year-old and they both deny biting the tips of my peppers. The two year old kept on pointing to the TV and saying "watch Barney". So if I find out who this Barney guy is I'm going to let him know I'm watching him and to stay away from my peppers.

It could be a symbolic warning from your wife.

Aside from that, birds are kind of the target demographic for pepper eating.

Every year my first ripe bhut gets the tip eaten. I swear its rabbits, the birds are way more interested in my berries. Whatever it is, it only happens once, they never touch the bhuts again.
