black splotches on my japs?

i don't have any pics to post right now, but this morning i noticed a few of my jalapenos had black splotches on them from the stem to the bottom. the splotches were only on the very top pods. is this some kind of sunburn? i picked one off and ate it but it didn't taste any different.
 
Don't worry its normal. Its just anthocyanin pigment protecting the plant much like a sun-tan. Pods will ripen to red
 
cool thanks! i've already picked about 50 green ones and i think i'll let the rest ripen fully. i like the flavor of both.
