disease-pests Black spots in seeds

I took the seeds from my first cayenne pod today... When I cut it open, some seeds had black spots inside. I know these seeds are bad, BUT is this a sign that I let it sit too long on the plant?

Ok so is the pod under ripened or are those seeds that stopped developing? Cuz it was red for almost a week before I picked it.

Probably just underdeveloped, considering the pod was ripe.Happens sometimes.Hopefully you were able to extract nice healthy viable seeds.

Thats good news.Ive discovered that with chocolate/brown superhots its better to deseed once the pod is ripe and not wait too long as they tend to get mushy and spoil quicker than reds and yellows at least that has been my experience
