I'm no expert by any means, but it looks similar (from the leaves and flowers) to my black jalapeno plants - I could be way off base though!

My mistake didn't put anything with the pod to compare the length, but is about 1.5 inch, not longer (maybe shorter). Also not so fleshy like a jalapeno (a normal one, because I never saw a black jalapeno so far).

Might be a czech black - I grew them last year.

Here's a Black Hungarian that I grew a few yrs back........they ripen red.....and can be bitter tasting....prior to ripening.

Seems like it could be a purple variety - could be. Many purples are rather black-appearing, at least for a while. They also ripen to red.

1. What's the difference between hungarian black, and czech black?
 
2. I think this is really black, I saw no stage to look purple/purplish (and I speak about the outside), and yes, this ripen to red.
