bonchi grow log (everyone can post)

this is the grow log for the bonchi challenge. i am trying to limit the rules down to a few. IF YOU ARE NOT FROM THE US YOU CAN STILL BE A PART OF IT YOU JUST WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE PRIZE THANK YOU.

RULES.
1. everyone entered must have a seperate variety of plant. meaning if two people want to both enter a bhut jolokia. an agreement must be reached to where one person must choose a different type. if an agreement cant be reached the person who was first to reserve that plant gets to have that variety.
2. you must reserve your plant(s) on this thread asap.
3. limit of two different varieties can be reserved.
4. you must have 3 photos uploaded before or on the day of the end of the contest. one photo showing height of plant. another showing the canopy of plant. one more photo of your choice showing your plants best feature or a really nice photo.
5. your plant must be 2ft. at max. height including pot.
7. if you decide to fuse or graft your bonchi there is still a two variety limit so you must graft either the two varieties together or you can graft multiples of the same variety together.
6. your bonchi can be any type of pepper. wild, super-hot, rare, mild etc.
8. all three photos must be submitted to this thread by MONDAY, DECEMBER 16TH 2013. That should give you enough time to grow, cut down, then regrow as a bonchi.

I would like to reserve my two varieties now sepia serpent and 7pot primo http://thehotpepper.com/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/fireball.gif

goodluck everyone and feel free to post other bonchi experiments in here just note that those are not the contenders

Hmm, I might need to make a trade with you at the end of this year :) After looking at some of the other glogs there are a lot of wilds on my list now.

Haha I'm open to trades and depending on how much I have I could possibly give you some seeds.

I was reading up on flexousums and it said they can survive and produce at like 15 degrees f

Vegas checking in! Ok my second one will be chapeau de frade (bishops crown). Nothing special I'm mostly in this to learn how to bonchi them and just enjoy the contest.

Left: Red Brazilian Starfish

Looking great! I am just going to be working on a single stem here for my first bonchi try. I love the look of the twisted stems, I will have to give that a try either this next winter or next year.

Editing to ask is that 3 stems on the Starfish?

Yes sir, 3 stems. 2 on the Chapeau, it was 3 but one died. It couldn't handle my torture lol....

Here is the knot at the bottom:

I'm kind of surprised it survived me tying it in a knot, but it hasn't slowed it down a bit.

Edit: other side of the knot

I am damn impressed with the knot that stupid jerk made. I am sure it will hold. The only problem is that as the stem gets wider, the knot will tighten and the stem will fuse together so it wont always look like a knotted tree. The knot will be there but it will slowly lose its definition.

This tree seemed to have held it pretty good. Looks like a flamboyant tree...

Here's my effort so far this year. SOO surprised it is still alive, it has been butchered to shreds but its still hanging in there.

Sorry about the shite pics.

Love the serrano 3 twist that looks really cool man and that double knot tree looks the biz. That would be sweet to have growing in your back garden. Proper fairy tale stuff.

Over and out for now.

Took my "Overwintered Jalapeno Stick Bonchi Project" and put him into a more suitable container.
The bottom piece to an indoor plant pot.....LOL If it's free, It's for me!!

It worked so well, I hacked another OW Jalapeno Stick (Showing tiny signs of life) into a second Bonchi in matching container :)
