misc Bonsai : Annuum ? Chinense ? Pubescens ? Etc......

Hi Guy's

I'm sure like me it's heart breaking to have to throw out your chilli plant's at the end of the season as the dark winter night's come.

You will have noticed some of your chilli plants have remarkable thick gnarly "trunks" and im sure the idea of Bonchi has entered your head from time to time........ 🤔

How many have followed through ? ?

Which species lend themselves to the Bonchi treatment ??

I have some Chinense and Pubescens with spectacular trunks ! the later has the bonus of the most beautiful flower's and hairy foliage.

I've noticed also chilli plant's are remarkable as are most plant's to an enormous amount of physical abuse ! Pruning, chopping, hacking, snapping, branch and leaf removal yet they often spring back !

Fun winter project ? 🤔

One thing I've noticed Bonsai pot's are very pricey compared to normal pot's of any type, which has got me pondering simply DIY Bonsai containers just for playing around ............🤔

Sorry about the bugs lol

Stressed little plants will fruit at just a few inches
Keeping them in small pots and keeping them short.

My recommendation:
Annuum Chiltepin

Orange Blob Habanero might be a good candidate to consider. This one is only 7.5" tall by 12" wide, and forks just 3 inches above the soil. I did not top or prune this plant at all; that is just how it naturally grew in this small container. And the pods taste pretty nice too, like a milder and sweeter Orange Hab.
