breeding Breeding for pod shape

Specifically.....

My big sun SB had 2 pods out of 90 or so, that had the classic SB shape.

Assuming they are pure.... would seeds from those pods be more likely to produce that shape than other pods on the same plant?

I know pollination or cross pollination plays no part in that generation of pods and their shape.

My understanding from what I have read is that you should take seeds from pods and plants that you want the next gen to be like. So assuming this is accurate, if you have a nice beautiful healthy plant and it has some pods with characteristics you like then by keeping seeds of those pods should yield you better chances at a plant much like the last with more pods like what you are looking for. Of course this can go different ways like anything dealing with genetics. Perhaps someone can give you a more detailed answer but thats mine based on what I do know.

In theory you should only save seeds from isolated pods with desired characteristics, but this doesn't mean that the new plants will display these desired characteristics. Often pod shape is determined by environmental factors or factors other than genetics alone.
I've tried saving seeds from my interesting shaped pods, but they always turn out looking "normal"
I was really hoping for some of my penis shaped chinenses to breed true-to-shape:)
