seeds Brown Moruga germination takes forever?

Is it just me or do brown moruga seeds take forever? Currently growing these

White Bhut
Carolina Reaper
Jalepeno
Wiri Wiri
Ot Hiem
Bulls Heart
Yellow Bulls Horn
Mini Orange Bell
Various 7 Pot Varietys

I get 95+% germination with all of these. My buddy said he was having a hard time starting Brown Moruga, so i figured no problem, i will start some.. 2 Browns, and 4 other varietys started. Everything came up without a problem, not a brown in site. I gave them more time and nothing.

Is it just us or does everyone have a hard time starting brown moruga? My seeds came from Judy so i am confident they are good

I dont have too much of an issue with Brown Morugas at all. Give em heat and moisture and they will pop. grew over 40 plants in "14". Less in "15" but they will be trees.

If the seeds came from Judy, I'll rule out any pepperjoe syndrome as the cause. What I do think is the problem is not enough heat/moisture. I literally had a bunch of explosive embers just sitting in dirt doing nothing. Untill I put them on a radiator with a rag underneath the propagator. In less than a week they all popped up

I had no problem with them last year.
I had problems with many of my peppers, but not the brown morugas.
As has been mentioned, with the proper moisture and heat and they should pop in under 2 weeks.

The germination method is proven, as literally everything else i have planted has done exceptionally well. I plant 2 seeds in each tray and when they grow a bit i chop the smaller one and discard. Worst case with any other variety has been only 1 of the 2 seeds will come up. The only thing i havent been able to get up is the brown moruga.

I am giving it another go with new seeds, i have all winter to get them up, spring is a long ways off yet fortunately

Every year I get one type that gives me difficulties. Two years ago it was the common Yellow Fatalii, last year Wild Brazil. For some reason they both did not want to germinate in December or January. It was not until late February that they finally gave me sprouts. The thing is everything was the same soil, heat etc. The only thing that could have changed was barometric pressure. Who knows, but keep at it and I'm sure you'll get your plants.

im germing about 8 different varietys from judys seeds this year, brown moruga and BBG7 are the only ones that havent come up yet, all the others are up.

My brown morugas had no problem what so ever germinating. I got mine from Judy and Judy rocks... If you are having a problem it probably is the conditions you have the seeds in. Keep them warm and moist but not saturated and dont let them dry. Germination should take around a week.

Multiple brown maruga finally broke out of their seeds but 100% ripped their own head off pulling out of the seed shell.. starting over. I dont blame the conditions as EVERYTHING else is always fast and easy growing. 12 more seeds started this morning. Hope one or two get it together. I only need 1 plant. I have a dozen other varietys going. Started brown because a friend said they had a hard time starting them. Now its personal and i WILL have a brown maruga plant and probably will bonchi it next winter

They decapitated themselves?.... or did you assist?

Themselves. I was excited to see hooks break the surface.. about 2 days later just a dying stem remained. Process repeated itself a few times. Each time the end result was the same. The last one wasnt a full decap. The last one had 1/2 of one leaf but it was clearly dead.. i dont "assist" anything. I have no problem with any other variety. Just the brown maruga.
Wonder if gnats could be part of my problem.. sticky traps have them under control, but there is the occassional gnat hanging around.. perhaps they are destroying the progress.. new seeds have been covered with cling wrap to keep them out.. we will see how it goes
