Castillo soap in water. Spray the plants thoroughly, wait fifteen minutes, and rinse it off. You want to get them under control quickly; they can transmit viruses from plant to plant.
Dr Bonners Peppermint Soap and Neem Oil will take care of them. Spray every day for 4 days or until you see them turn black. Once you get aphids, I suggest a weekly spray to keep them under control. Also, look for ants as a telltale sign of them being on your plants. Ants love to protect and harvest them around since they secrete a very sticky sweet nectar.
My answer 3 out of 30 - cut your losses and destroy the infected. Spray and protect the others. Only the strong survive....
Yep. Aphids. Get on them fast. They multiply like crazy. Something like each one producing 6 babies in 7 days.
Squish them when you see them. Hope that ladybugs come to the party. You can also blast your pants with keys from the hose I haven't found it to be all that effective. Ladybugs are awesome though.
Although you'll help prevent spreading them from plant to plant by ensuring they aren't touching each other, there are flying aphids as well. Oh and not to mention ants will actually farm the aphids and move them around your plant because they like the honeydew the aphids produce. It's kinda neat except they're a real PITA.

Thanks everyone...... I will start with Dr Bronners Peppermint Soap and Neem because I have that soap already and can get the Neem locally..... I will use that till the Azamax arrives. Fortunately there aren't many left. I wiped most of them out with "Safer Insect Killing Soap" that my wife had last night just after I posted this. I don't think I will have to kill the plants but I have isolated them and will be keeping close watch.
This is my first real attempt at growing peppers..... so I'm new at this. I have lush green plants..... but am a bit worried that there are very few blooms and it's nearly September. I started a bit late I guess and plan to over winter the strongest plants. but there's about 6 to 8 weeks left in my season so I may still get some pods.

Funny, I bought a bottle of the safer soap and it didn't work for me when I used it. I was pretty pissed off for blowing $17 on that crap. Stick with the Bonners and neem. Otherwise, azamax when you want instant results.Charx said:
