seeds Can smoked seeds germinate?

I had some dried NM red pods that I coarsely ground, (the seeds were still intact), then I cold smoked them at <80°. My newbie question is, can they germinate?

generally no the heat kills them
i tried many years ago with some seeds from dried chilpotle peppers and they did not germinate , i later found out that the heat from the smoking process kills the embryo however if you cold smoked then it would not hurt to give it a try.
