franzb69 .... I luckily haven't had to deal with typhoons. I have seen what a hurricane can do. Hurricane Gilbert missed me by one day in Ja. When I went back the next year I couldn't believe it !! All the tall coconut trees got topped where I stay. So no coconut milk for rice 'n' peas. A true bummer.
That pergola looks nice !! Wifey wants me to try something like that. But I think with the kind of hail we get here it still wouldn't do what I want. The sides are very open and hail doesn't fall straight down with the winds we get. Guess a guy could figure a way to cover the sides when needed. But I won't tell my wife that...... LOL
