Good evening.
I was taking a stroll in the riverine forrest here on our land this afternoon. Rocky terrain with high trees and lots of undergrowth.
This is part of the natural distribution of C. chacoense. The type description of the bush here is Chaco espinal. Thorney Chaco.
There are litaraly hundreds of plants of chacoense here.
For reference. They almost always grow in the shade of big trees.
It makes me happy to walk and pick a good mouth full of my favorite berries as I wonder around hunting hogs or picking up firewood.
Just a reflection.

Use them a lot in food. Green or ripe. I eat them like berrys. They really are not hot.
The locals here use it a lot in stews, soups and a great favourite is to use it in Empanadas (meat pies)
I do not pull all of them out when weeding the garden and so the ones I leave forms part of the production and variety.
