Capsicum Galapagoense???

I'm just curious if anyone has seeds of this unusual species. I might attempt to grow it once just to see if I have any luck, but for the most part I only intend to keep the seeds for their novelty.

They are said to be undomesticated, TRUE wild plants with furry leaves and very hot pea-sized pods. How interesting! Anyone who has has a couple seeds please send me a PM!!

Nope no joking bro! True as the day is long.

I have THREE seeds of this particular species, i will plant two tomorrow. You making this thread actually got me off my butt and find them, i thought i had lost them and i was afraid that the nice fellow that gave them to me might be very upset!

So i have one spare seed. You want it you got it, only if you promise to give it a dirt nap though. :D

I spent a good hour or two reading up about these at various sites, and it does seem quite tricky. Maybe growing it in a tank with more controlled conditions might be helpful. Supposedly this plant gets more water from the air than it does from the soil. I'm gonna have to read up as much as I can about the Galapagos if I ever plan on growing this oddball.

They are very easy to grow!
I am growing CGN and PI versions, and they are all at least 4 footers, and yes,,indoors they smell sticky icky!

I have found germination to be between 21-60 days on these.
Mine was definitely closer to the 60 day mark.

And dunno if it's my climate here or what but I have also found them to be the slowest growing chilli I have ever grown. Mine is only just growing it's fourth or fifth set of real leaves now and it's approx. three months old!

If your lucky enough to find them free in a trade then your ahead of the game...

I ordered them awhile back from $atali seeds...and they will get planted sooner than any other, just from what I've read it can take time... :(
