Carbonero Pod Test

This is a review/test of my first ripe Carbonero. It came the plant I have growing in the Kratky setup. It might not be the best representation of the pod, as the heat was hab level at best. The flavor was excellent, mild and sweet. I'll test another pod later in the season off one of the more mature plants. I have three growing total, two in poly grow bags, and one in a non-circulating hydro setup. I'm getting ready to move that one to an 18 gallon tote which should help it.

Yea Carbonero are around Hab level heat from what i've experienced. I believe they are current around f5 (or f4 in the case of yours) so not 100% stable. Tasty pods. The plant I grew the season prior pollen was sterile unfortunately. The only pods it developed where the ones I had cross pollinated to it from Butch T scorpion.

I'm growing 2 regular Carbonero this year and 3 of the Carbonero X Butch T yellow. The cross has pretty gnarly shaped pods.

This is how my f5s look. Small and bumpy, i've seen some longer style ones too

Those look really nice.

Nice review. I have a pod just starting to turn orange, so I expect I will get to try it for myself soon. Mine are small and bumpy, like in the photo D3 posted. All the reviews I have seen talk about what a good tasting pod this is, so I am really looking forward to it.

The Carbonero is at F4 this season. That is what Tony Sherwood told me when he sent my seeds in January.
